Two Graphics to grab for September print issue!
Get the school year started with some illustrating!
Welcome back, everyone!
The Concordian is super excited for this upcoming year, and we hope you are, too! Our printed papers will be coming out twice a month this volume, and we’d love to feature artwork from talented artists (like you!) across Concordia.
Below is a list of the articles that need accompanying graphics this week, with their titles, descriptions, and a little suggestion of what you could illustrate if you need to get your gears turning.
If you’d like to claim any of the following pitches, please email me (Carleen) at graphics@theconcordian.com ASAP to do so! First come, first serve!
These graphics will be due Saturday, September 16th.
Title: Gender-affirming care at Concordia
Description: This year, for the first time, StudentCare insurance includes gender-affirming care. An exploration of different gender-affirming services offered on campus.
Suggestion: A “Trans Rights Are Human Rights” poster and transgender flag on the wall of a doctor’s office (OR maybe just a text based graphic — “Gender-affirming care saves lives” with ornamentation or sketches around it)
Title: Media and the Vaccine in Sports
Description: A discussion of the vaccine fear-mongering over cardiac arrests among athletes in recent news
Suggestion: Many TV’s of different sizes stacked on top of each other with “FEAR” and skulls displayed on their screens
That’s all for this print issue, remember to email graphics@theconcordian.com to claim a pitch! Beyond that, don’t ever hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Take care, guys!
