Three new graphics to claim!
Get involved with The Concordian and show off your artistic skills!
Hey everyone!
Happy Monday! We’ve got three more articles needing graphics this week, and the artist of one of those graphics could be you!!
If you’d like to claim any of the following pitches, please email Carleen at graphics@theconcordian.com ASAP to do so. First come, first serve!
All these graphics are due back on Sunday, February 12th.
Articles this week needing graphics:
Title: UFC 248 Recap
Description: A recap of UFC 248, happening on February 11th.
Suggestion: This event isn’t happening until Saturday, so I’d suggest a graphic of Islam Makhachev facing off against Alexander Volanovski (the main event fighters) à la Mortal Kombat.
Title: Government of Canada give Concordia researchers $497,000 for climate research
Description: An article discussing Concordia’s research team’s plan to investigate a new technique of capturing CO2 in the atmosphere, helping Canada reach its carbon-emissions goals.
Suggestion: A giant cup covering a factory with smoke stacks billowing black fumes, but hitting the cup’s boundary. Or, if you’re interested, a simple representation of CCUS (the carbon-capture technique) — you can email Carleen to talk about this.
Title: Romeo Dallaire to speak at Concordia
Description: An article discussing Romeo Dallaire’s upcoming talk — Romeo Dallaire is an advocate for human rights and a retired army officer who led the United Nations’ peacekeeping mission in Rwanda in 1993. He writes about army PTSD and the chilling use of child soldiers.
Suggestion: A respectful portrait of Romeo Dallaire, possibly with the shadows of soldiers behind him.
That’s all for this week! Thanks so much for reading, and remember to claim a pitch by emailing Carleen at graphics@theconcordian.com.
Take care,
Carleen Loney
