THREE Graphics Needed for Print Issue!
See your work in print this Valentines' week!
Hey everybody,
Happy February! I hope you’re all doing well, staying healthy and warm! This week, for our print issue, we have three graphics to be assigned to you incredible artists. If you’d like to claim a graphic, reach out to me (Carleen) at graphics@theconcordian.com (or feel free to reach out about anything else, too!)
All the graphics below are due back Sunday, February 11th at noon.
Title: The “Hard 75” Controversy
Description: “Hard 75” is a new, trending challenge that forces participants to follow ridiculously strict guidelines with diet, exercise, and lifestyle. This article will feature interviews with students and reflect on the controversy of this challenge.
Suggestion: Someone exercising, chugging water, and reading a book all at the same time, looking stressed.
Title: Lack of Black history month programming in Concordia Athletics
Description: Black History Month has just begun, but we haven't seen much regarding programming for it in Concordia Athletics. What's happening?
Suggestion: Maybe a dynamic action shot of a Black student athlete(s) (kicking a soccer ball, throwing a football, skating with a puck, etc!) — or, maybe a calendar of Black History Month with the dates all left empty, or with notes like “Nothing planned?”, “Could be an event here?”
Title: What AFCON means to Concordia Students
Description: The African Cup of Nations’ semi-finals are on-going, and this article asks Concordia international students from Africa and Black Concordians about the tournament’s significance to them.
Suggestion: A line-up of some players from the various participating countries (standings can be found online, or ask me!), wearing their jerseys, or maybe their flags around their necks. Or maybe the AFCON trophy?
That’s all for this week! If you’d like to draw for one of the articles above, be sure to shoot me an email at graphics@theconcordian.com. Otherwise, to be added to our list of graphics contributors, click here.
Thanks so much, have a great end-of-semester, everyone!
