Hey, all!
Welcome back from strike week! This week, for the digital issue, we have three graphics to be assigned to you incredible artists. If you’d like to claim a graphic, reach out to me (Carleen) at graphics@theconcordian.com (or feel free to reach out about anything else, too!)
All the graphics below are due back Sunday, March 24th at noon.
Title: Feminine Rage
Description: This opinions piece explores the phenomenon of "feminine rage", an interest in popular culture of the glamorization of the expression of anger. This is especially relevant as women are often taught to suppress these emotions.
Suggestion: This could be many things! But maybe an illustration of a woman’s face repeated many times with different expressions, and overlapping each other.
Title: Boldireff’s Case Against SPVM’s Mishandling
Description: When Boldireff was stalked a few years ago, the SPVM repeatedly brushed aside the urgency of her case, neglected her safety, and undeniably discriminated against her based off her gender and age. Now, she is bringing her case to the Human Rights Tribunal of Quebec.
Suggestion: A woman being questioned by many male figures gathered around her — or the figures of two SPVM officers by their car, but faced away.
Title: MLB Regular Season Preview
Description: A piece discussing professional baseball’s rule changes such as the pitch clock, big injuries such as Tommy Johns, new exciting transactions.
Suggestion: A graphic of the pitcher winding up with the giant pitch clock numbers flashing behind him could be good! But open to suggestion.
That’s all for this week! If you’d like to draw for one of the articles above, be sure to shoot me an email at graphics@theconcordian.com. Otherwise, to be added to our list of graphics contributors, click here.
Thanks so much, have a great week, everyone!
