Hey Concordians!
We have three graphics available to grab this week to accompany online articles!
If you’d like to claim any of the following pitches, please email Carleen at graphics@theconcordian.com ASAP to do so! First come, first serve!
These graphics are due Saturday, January 28th.
Articles this week needing graphics:
Title: Weird Celebrity Baby Names
Description: An opinion piece about celebrities’ knack for giving their babies weird names, inspired by John Legend’s new baby Esti.
Suggestion: A confused baby surrounded by strings of letters or strange names around them.
Title: Inclusivity in Hockey
Description: An article discussing LGBTQ+ inclusivity in hockey, and what still needs to be done to make it an inclusive environment.
Suggestion: A line-up of various hockey players of various heights, sizes, sexes, and styles (be playful!), OR various pieces of hockey equipment in the colours of pride flags.
Title: New Concordia Program for Indigenous People
Description: An article about the new program being created to help Indigenous students who don't fulfill traditional requirements to get into Concordia.
Suggestion: A silhouette of an indigenous student looking up at a giant stack of books all labelled “Academia”.
NOTE: Regardless of artistic direction chosen, please do not caricaturize indigenous people. If in doubt, send us an email to get a second opinion!
That’s all for this week! Claim a pitch by emailing Carleen at graphics@theconcordian.com.
Have a great week,
James & Carleen
