CSU, GSA, TRA withdraw from Concordia’s Standing Committee on Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Violence
On Wed, Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m., the Concordia Student Union (CSU), the Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), and the Teaching and Research Assistants at Concordia (TRAC) union formally withdrew from Concordia’s Standing Committee on Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Violence at a press conference held outside the Hall building. Representatives speaking on behalf of the organization cited neglected demands, mismanaged complaints, and structural issues within the Standing Committee behind the collective withdrawal.

Sex work activists protest at the Montreal Courthouse in support of upcoming constitutional challenge
On Fri Oct. 7, the Sex Work Autonomous Committee (SWAC) gathered at the Montreal courthouse to hold a demonstration in support of an upcoming constitutional challenge on the legality of sex work in Canada. The constitutional challenge was brought forward by the Canadian Alliance for Sex Law Work Reform (CASWLR) and seeks to strike down legislation which they have declared as harmful to sex workers.

Impact of student strike on international students
With tensions between Concordia’s administration and 13 Members of the Associations (MA) culminating in last week's student strike for reading week, many international students found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. The Concordian asked international students from a variety of backgrounds about the unexpected impacts of last week’s strike.
