Student associations vote on strike for fall reading week
When & where: Contact your student association for more information
When members of associations (MAs) held their Annual General Meetings last week, many voted to decide on whether or not their respective departments would participate in the upcoming student strike for a fall reading week. MAs who get a mandate to strike will be picketing classes from Oct. 3 to 7.

Space Concordia at the Eighth Annual European Rover Challenge
When: 4 p.m. Central European Time (CET)
Where: Kielce, Poland
Space Concordia (SC), a multidisciplinary student association dedicated to learning about space through hands-on experience, competed in the eighth annual European Rover Challenge (ERC) in Kielce, Poland. 11 members from the SC robotics team participated in the ERC last weekend and faced off against 37 other teams over a period of three days.

The President’s Welcome Reception
When: 9 - 11 a.m.
Where: Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex 1515 St. Catherine W. Atrium
Concordia President and Vice-Chancellor Graham Carr was at the President’s Welcome Reception on Sept. 14 at SGW for a meet-and-greet. A similar event was also held on the Loyola Campus at The Grove, from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15.
When: Wednesday, Sept. 14 until Saturday, Sept. 17
Where: Sir George Williams Campus and Loyola Campus
Wednesday marked the beginning of Concordia Homecoming 2022. The occasion involved a variety of events being held in honour of Concordia’s past alumni, including the Queer Homecoming on Wednesday, Sept. 14 and the Homecoming Football Game & Alumni Zone BBQ on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Recreation and Athletics Complex on Concordia’s Loyola Campus.
Concordia Student Union (CSU) and Graduate Student Association (GSA) Cultural Fair
When: 11a.m. - 7 p.m.
Where: Henry F. Hall Building 1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W. Room H-711
The CSU and GSA hosted a cultural fair to celebrate the many unique and diverse cultural associations at Concordia. Students had the opportunity to interact with participating clubs, with performances by individuals and groups held later that afternoon.
The Honourable Murray Sinclair was granted the Loyola Medal by Manon Tremblay, Senior Director of Indigenous Directions at Concordia University, during a ceremony live-streamed from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Justice Sinclair will be the 23rd recipient of the Loyola Medal for his distinguished legal and political career, and his role as Chairman of Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

The Otsenhákta Student Centre (OSC) hosted the first Pow Wow at Concordia University. This historic event commemorated the 30th anniversary of the OSC and was held on the Loyola Campus Quadrangle.
Le Frigo Vert will celebrate the start of the new school year by hosting a gathering open to all Concordia students. Le Frigo Vert is a health foods cooperative dedicated to providing a communal space for marginalized communities to gather.
