Greetings fellow Concordians,
It’s Dalia again. I hope all of you are doing well. I don’t know about you guys but this week just flew right on by.
With things piling up, it’s a little hard to keep motivated and keep your spirits up.
Over the past weekend, I went to the opening event of Optimista, a series of cine-conferences each with different themes.
The kickoff event had the theme of courage and at the event they screened the documentary The Black Cop.
This documentary revolves around Gamal “G” Tuwara, about his involvement in the British police force as an openly gay, black man.
You can watch the documentary through this link.
This documentary is so powerful and definitely worth the watch.
In other news, are you guys Halloween fanatics? If so, I have some events that are happening next week on campus.
OVERHEARD ON CAMPUS
On Oct. 28, The Grove at the Loyola campus is hosting the Spooky Carnival. There will be Carnival games, snacks, music and more.
They advertised that there will be an interesting Halloween twist. If any of you go let me know what that twist is :)
If campus events aren’t your thing, I have another event for dog lovers.
From the people that hosted Corgi Pawty in early September, they bring you the Pawlloween Pawty 2022.
On Oct. 29, dog owners will gather at Sir-Wilfred-Laurier park with their dogs all dressed up. It’s free to sign up your dogs, and prizes will be awarded to the best-dressed dog.
In the case of rain the event will be postponed to Oct. 30.
That’s all for me!!
Have a great week,
Dalia
