Howdy fellow Concordians,
I wanted to first and foremost wish you all a very happy new year. For those who celebrate the Lunar New Year, I wanted to extend my warmest wishes for this year of the Rabbit.
Fun fact: if you were born in 2011, 1999 or 1987, your zodiac is the Rabbit as well. I was born in 1999, so I truly believe that this year will be something exciting.
I do not know about any of you, but I am not the biggest fan of winter. As I was driving in to work this morning, I was listening to my favorite radio station, Virgin Radio. They were talking about which is the better mode of transport — driving or taking the metro? Montrealers were chiming in with their opinions.
Personally, I think it depends on the day and, most importantly, the gas prices. When we are in the middle of a storm, I will not even dare to drive to school. When the gas was at $2.30 a liter, the bus and metro were my best friends.
I leave the question to you guys: are you team car or team metro?
Now, on the same topic of winter… I try to keep out of the winter blues and take my mind off of things by getting involved with as many events as I can.
Coming up in February, La Poutine Week is back from Feb. 1-14. You can find more information through this link.
OVERHEARD ON CAMPUS
Now in more campus related events, one event caught my eye. There is a two-day career event, taking place at both campuses on Wednesday, Feb. 8 (SGW) and Thursday, Feb 9 (LOY).
At this two-day event, you can speak to career counsellors if you have questions regarding your career path, register to get your LinkedIn picture taken, and much more!
For more information about this event, please visit the following link.
That’s all for me folks, stay safe and warm.
