Hey, all!
Welcome back from the break, I hope you did something either exciting or restful! You deserve it! This week, for the digital issue, we have four graphics to be assigned to you incredible artists. If you’d like to claim a graphic, reach out to me (Carleen) at graphics@theconcordian.com (or feel free to reach out about anything else, too!)
All the graphics below are due back Sunday, March 10th at noon.
Title: Mythology and Female Archetypes
Description: Online, it’s become a trend to relate women to mythological characters (like Hera, Aphrodite, etc), each connecting to an aspect of feminine power. Our Opinions Assistant Editor is discussing two of these archetypes, as part of a continuing series.
Suggestion: The two goddesses that are being written about this week, in some kind of modern-day situation (message me, we’ll chat!)
Title: Media’s Fixation on Young Women
Description: What does media’s fixation on young, beautiful women reveal about our society’s values, and how does this affect young women? Our Opinions Editor discusses her experience.
Suggestion: Maybe a woman discovering new wrinkles on her face in the mirror — or, an older woman sitting indoors and looking out the window, with the lights of a show/activity happening outdoors reflecting on her face.
Title: The Importance of Trust in Cybersecurity
Description: A piece reinforcing the role of trust in online communities, and discussing why communications and marketing students are beginning to gravitate towards cyber security fields.
Suggestion: An Escher-style digital cube environment, with little people all trying to run towards a giant open door with Space Invader-style video game enemies spilling in (or something simpler, haha)
Title: Sports Clubs Updates!
Description: Checking in on Concordia’s sports clubs (Rowing! Tennis! ESports!) running this semester, with descriptions of what they do!
Suggestion: Some illustrations of people doing these sports! In Concordia jerseys!
That’s all for this week! If you’d like to draw for one of the articles above, be sure to shoot me an email at graphics@theconcordian.com. Otherwise, to be added to our list of graphics contributors, click here.
Thanks so much, have a great week, everyone!
