Howdy Features Fans,
It’s been some time since we last spoke, I’ve missed you. As the reading break approaches, I am sure you find yourself flush with free time and unsure what to do with it. Well never fear, I am here to provide you with some articles that will help you fill the dreary monotony of a week without assignments, courses and general school anxiety. It is about to be a reading break after all, why read your textbooks when you could read The Concordian?
First off, features contributor Emily Pasquarelli tackles the story of the youngest holocaust survivor Angela Orosz, as she speaks on the effects of intergenerational trauma.
Next up, Jared Lackman-Mincoff profiles Marissa Miller, a Concordia Journalism department alum, currently on staff with CNN who’s written for Vogue, GQ, The New York Times and many more. Her new book Pretty Weird speaks on mental health and empowerment by breaking down the adversary she has faced over the years.
And finally assistant features editor Emma Meglas, highlights the Concordia Nightline and the work they are doing to provide a caring ear for students who need it, in her article Concordia Students’ Nightline: A Volunteer’s Life Away From The Phone
That should be enough reading to get you through the break. Stay tuned for the next Deep Dive and more from the features section coming next week. If your fear of blue light has kept you devoted to physical media, you can find Volume 40, Issue 16 of The Concordian on newsstands across campus, be sure to get it while it’s hot.
